Who’s My Elder? ~
All members are part of a Shepherd Group, led by an Elder. Which group do you belong to?
Contact your Elder if you have spiritual concerns or questions about Grace. Your Elder will sometimes reach out to you with important church news or just to stay connected.
The Liturgical Year of the Lutheran Church
The Church Year, or Liturgical Year, begins in November or December and centers upon events in the life of our Lord Jesus.
ADVENT is the first season or the church year, beginning four weeks before Christmas on the Sunday closest to November 30 and ending on Christmas Eve.
Purple is the traditional color of Advent. It reminds us that Jesus was born to be our King. Some churches choose to use Blue, the color of hope and anticipation.
The Biblical lessons during Advent feature words of the Old Testament prophets telling God’s people that He would send a Savior.
Advent means “coming” or “drawing near”. This is a time of waiting and preparation for the arrival of Christ.
An Advent Wreath is used to mark the four weeks of Advent. The wreath has four candles. One candle is lit on the first week and an additional candle is lit each week. Some churches add a “Christ candle” in the middle of the wreath, which is lit on Christmas Day.

GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH BUILDING POLICY
The membership of Grace welcomes the chance to provide usage of the building to members and the surrounding community for activities that fit in conjunction with our mission. The following policies are provided not as a deterrent from use but as a guide to help everyone interested get the most out of their usage of the building.
Arrangements should be made at least 2 weeks prior to planned activity, and a signed authorization form put on file with the church secretary. This allows time to resolve any scheduling conflict or other unforeseen problems scheduled on the Activity calendar.
The building must be vacated by 11:00 p.m. and left in the same condition that you found it prior to use.
A walk through should be made with the Church Secretary or Committee member prior to use to go over any questions or potential issues that could arise. (If the secretary is not available, please see Frank VanKempen to assist with building use needs.)

UPDATED 2025
The Body of Christ
We believe it is important to edify, encourage, and include every member of our congregation to build unity and loving relationships.
“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
