Following Jesus
Jesus says, “Come, follow Me.” Following Jesus requires active service, love, and self-sacrifice, rather than passive observation. Will you choose to obey and follow Jesus? Will you center your daily life on the teachings of Christ rather than simply believing in His name, focusing on the active, obedient, and transformative nature of authentic discipleship?
The Greatness of God’s Love to the World
On Trinity Sunday, we recognize that our God is Three in One: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father sent the Son to die for our sins. The Son returned to Heaven and sent the Holy Spirit to empower all who believe on the Son.
Share Jesus’ Love
I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
Make Better Disciples
Lord Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit, shape us into faithful disciples who gladly hear Your Word and make the commitment to grow in our discipleship. Use us also to encourage and strengthen others, that Your Church may raise up true disciples who will disciple others.
Make More Disciples
…God our Savior… wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Make Disciples
Jesus said, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Grace is God’s Promise
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
Grace for a Wretch
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself am serving the law of God, but with my flesh, the law of sin.
As the Father Has Sent Me, I am Sending You
Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you. Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe." But these are written (signs) so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
Today You Will Be With Me
One of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at him: "Aren't you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!" But the other answered, rebuking him: "We are punished justly, because we're getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man had done nothing wrong. Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus answered, "Today you will be with me in paradise."
Father, into Your Hands
It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three, because the sun’s light failed. The curtain of the sanctuary was split down the middle. And Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.” Saying this he breathed his last.
Who is it You Are Looking For?
The women who followed Jesus went to the tomb to complete the burial rituals, but Jesus' body was gone. Jesus asks, " Who is it you are looking for?" Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him." Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!"
“It is Finished”
When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, "It is finished." Then bowing his head, he gave up his spirit.
“I thirst”
After this, when Jesus knew that everything was now finished that the Scripture might be fulfilled, he said, “I’m thirsty.” A jar full of sour wine was sitting there; so they fixed a sponge full of sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it up to his mouth.
Here is your son/Here is your mother
Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, here is your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.
Why Have You Forsaken Me?
From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over the whole land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" that is, "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"
Father, Forgive Them
Two others - criminals - were also led away to be executed with him. When they arrived at the place called The Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals, one on his right and one on the left. Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing."
