He Will Come Humbly
Foretold Lenten Sermon Series
- Palm Sunday -
Sunday, April 14, 2019
“Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” (Zechariah 9:9 NIV)
“A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”” (Matthew 21:8–9 NIV)
What are the odds?
Mathematician Peter Stoner once calculated the odds of just 8 Old Testament prophecies being fulfilled in one person to be 1 in 1017. 1017 silver dollars would cover the state of Michigan five feet deep! In the Foretold series, we’ll be looking at 15 Messianic prophecies all fulfilled in Christ. Amazing confirmation that Jesus is in fact, the Son of God, who came to live and die for us and to defeat sin, Satan and death itself by His resurrection!
